GOS OIL 100
GOS OIL 100 is an all oil (100% oil)
drilling and coring fluid system. It is used as Core
drilling to make an attempt to preserve its natural
state. It is used when necessary to avoid potential
invasion of water and / or filtration of oil with
surfactant, to the producing reservoir.
GOS OIL 100 is stable to temperature
and in case of water inlet, the system can be converted
to a GOS INVERT OIL.
GOS OIL 100 minimize or eliminate
changes in the wettability of the formation and water
saturation in a producing reservoir. This leads to
maximize production rates of oil and gas wells.
GOS OIL 100 have been used previously
to recover cores for laboratory analysis. These cores
are used to better define water saturation, connate
water salinities and oil-water contacts.
The recovered cores are also used to
determine reservoir permeability and porosity, as well
as flow testing in the laboratory to better define the
reservoir characteristics.

OIL INVERT
The GOS INVERT SYSTEM is an invert
emulsion systems where the continuous phase is oil
(diesel or mineral oil) and water (calcium chloride
brine) as the dispersed or internal phase. GOS OIL
INVERT can be sub classified in two separate categories:
-
a) Conventional. These are
“tight”and very stable emulsions that have zero API
(100 psi) fluid loss. They usually have high
electrical stability and a controlled HTHP fluid
loss less than 10 cm3 at 500 psi (3,447 kPa) and
300°F (149°C), with no water in the filtrate. These
systems are typically used in very difficult
environments requiring a higher emulsion stability
and increased tolerance to contaminants.
-
b) Relaxed-filtrate. These
are slightly less stable emulsions purposefully run
with higher HTHP filtrates than conventional invert
emulsion muds. It is normal for them to have some
water in the HTHP filtrate.
