GOS
MUL
GOS MUL is oil in water emulsion
system; the external phase is water and behaves like a
water base fluid. It is a low density emulsion fluid
that, with 70% oil internal and 30% water external
weights 7.3 lb / gal (0.88 g / cc).
This direct emulsion fluid has been
used in drilling, completion and workover jobs.
The system does not need calcium
carbonate to seal the permeability of unconsolidated
sands because the surfactant used to create the emulsion
is of anionic nature and has an effect in the productive
sand of reaffirming the water wettability of the rock,
creating an effect "in situ" like the one that a
nonreactive matrix stimulation produces.
GOS MUL low density system is free of
solids and contains small amount of polymers. In case of
needing to increase the density of the fluid, micronized
calcium carbonate can be used according to the
permeability of the producing formation.
GOS MUL minimizes or eliminates
formation damages caused by systems loaded with polymers
and calcium carbonates.
We have obtained better production
rates with the GOS MUL P drilling fluid system than
with polymer viscoelastic “drill in” systems , under
the same operating conditions.
The GOS MUL P have been used in over
130 wells, out of these more than 100 have been
horizontal. We should emphasize that in the drilling
operation of these wells, we have never left a pipe
stuck in the hole.
The surfactant or emulsifier GOS MUL
comes in 55 Gal drums. GOS MUL P for drilling and GOS
MUL R for Workover.
